Re: Dynamic Update System
In the new version 6.75 this feature is active, so in the next weeks you could try and test it as you like.

Sure thing -- do you have something I could help out with now or do you mean you'll get back to me in a few weeks?

Re: Dynamic Update System
You can try now the new Manage Apps feature, test it and write me your opinions.
Re: Dynamic Update System
I'm working to improve this tool on some aspects (v2.5.9.2):
- fixed some bugs
- added a context menu for items (any advice to improve it is welcome)
- added the ability to stop Checking and Updating procedures without cause problems (so users without broadband connections can interrupt update procedure and continue it later)
- added the software description, available from the new context menu (support also PortableApps software)
- added a link to the software web page, available from the new context menu (support also PortableApps software)
- improved the error system
If you want to try it, you can download the new manager executable from HERE (place it in "[SuiteDir]\Launcher\Manager" folder). Tests are very useful to help me in the development.

Re: Dynamic Update System
the Suite Manager is great, i'm using it to update Lupo apps!
i notice that the update move the old folder and replace it with the new extracted folder, i like to request the old folder make a backup copy first, then the new folder to overwrite the old folder so that it would retain the settings of the old.

Re: Dynamic Update System
It is already possible. From the Manage Apps options you can select the Update Mode:
- "Keep old" is the mode that create a backup copy of the old program in LupoTemp temporary folder (you can access to this folder clicking on the Open button on the right).
- "On-the-fly" instead is the mode that do not keep a backup copy of it and remove the old program after the update.
Note: in the next Suite release will be included an updated manager, with a new Download link (to allow users to download software separately, for external purposes) and some improvements in the tool core.

Re: Dynamic Update System
How about the apps from winpenpac?Lupo73 wrote:
In future I'd like to add:
- support also of external software updates (for example from portableapps.com, if someone can help me to create this feature)
they only tell witch apps need a update and send you to the site if you realy want the update.
however i managed to downloa lots of the automaticaly, so this might be of help for you.
i prefere winpenpac above portableapps.com. eccept when multilanguage comes into play.
i coded it in autohotkey.
It works as follows:
For winpenpac:
1 download: http---www-winpenpack.com/update/update.xml.zip
2 extract it, and parse the xml
3 download app: http---netcologne.dl.sourceforge.net/project/winpenpack/%Name%/releases/%Name%_%version%_%Revision%.zip
3 example: http---netcologne.dl.sourceforge.net/project/winpenpack/X-MediaPlayerClassic_HomeCinema/releases/X-MediaPlayerClassic_HomeCinema_1.6.4.6052_rev9.zip
Hope to be of service
